The drive

KCA families drive in from Lebanon, Columbia, and Greensburg as well as Campbellsville and across Taylor County. Ask the office who else drives your road — carpools form every year.

Affordability

Families like yours already go here

Most KCA families are working families. Taylor County's median household income is about $60,000 a year, and families right at that income send their children here — because tuition steps down for additional children, can be paid monthly instead of up front, and can be reduced further by need-based assistance.

Multi-child discounts

Each additional K–5 child is $300 less than the first; call the office for PreK and middle-school sibling rates.

Monthly payment plans

Tuition can be spread across roughly 10 payments during the school year instead of paid up front.

Need-based assistance

A confidential application, funded by donors and ministry partners, that lowers what your family pays.

New in 2026

529 savings can now cover up to $20,000 a year of K-8 costs

Money saved in a 529 account is no longer just for college. Starting in 2026 families can use it for tuition, books, tutoring, and testing fees at a school like KCA.

What the new rules allow

Who qualifies for aid

Awards typically cover a portion of tuition rather than all of it, and are sized to what a family can reasonably pay. Applications are confidential, reviewed by a small committee, and decided separately from admission — asking for help never counts against your child.

When to apply: submit the aid application at the same time as the enrollment application. Awards are decided before registration is due, so you will know your real cost before you commit to anything.

State childcare assistance

If you receive state childcare assistance for a preschool-age child, call the office before you apply — we will tell you plainly whether it can be applied at KCA this year.

The process

How enrolling actually works

1. Call or send the form
You ask what it costs, we tell you on the first call. Nothing is committed at this stage.
2. Come see it
Visit on a regular school day, meet the teacher, and sit in the classroom your child would join.
3. Fill out the application
A short form plus a copy of report cards or records from your child's current school.
4. Grade placement
A brief assessment and a conversation with you, so your child starts in the right grade — not a test you can fail.
5. Apply for help, if you need it
One confidential form about household income. It is read by the aid committee only, and it does not change whether your child is accepted.
6. Register and start
Sign the enrollment agreement, pay the registration fee (or set up a plan for it), and get your Sycamore login for grades and attendance.

Questions

What families ask us

Do we have to be members of a particular church?: No. Families from many local churches attend KCA, and some attend none right now. We do ask families to support the school's Christian mission and statement of faith.
What if we can't pay the whole registration fee at once?: Say so. The office can usually split it or move the date. We would rather work out a schedule than lose a family over a one-time fee.
Is financial aid really available, or is that just something schools say?: It is real, it is funded by donors and ministry partners, and families receive it every year. Aid decisions are made separately from admission decisions.
Can we pay monthly instead of all at once?: Yes. Tuition can be spread across the school year, which is how most KCA families pay.
We've never applied to a private school before. Is this complicated?: No. It is a phone call, a visit, one application, and one enrollment form. The office walks you through each step, and nothing on this site requires you to know school jargon.
Can we enroll mid-year?: Often yes, if space is available in the grade. Call the office and we'll tell you honestly.
How large are classes?: Small enough that every teacher knows every student by name and can reteach when needed.
Do you serve homeschool families?: We have historically partnered with homeschool families for certain courses and activities. Ask the office about current options.
