Affordability options
Most KCA families are working families in Taylor County. Tuition can be paid monthly. Sibling discounts and need-based assistance can lower the cost, and two federal options may help families plan for tuition.
Coming in 2027
A new federal tax credit begins in 2027 and may help approved organizations fund scholarships. Families apply to the SGO, which verifies eligibility and decides awards. KCA cannot promise an award and will share application details only after participating organizations and dates are confirmed.

Families may use up to $20,000 per child each year from a 529 account for eligible tuition and other K–12 education expenses. State rules differ, so check with your plan provider or tax preparer before withdrawing.

Affordability
Most KCA families are working families. Taylor County's median household income is about $60,000 a year, and families right at that income send their children here — because tuition steps down for additional children, can be paid monthly instead of up front, and can be reduced further by need-based assistance.
Each additional K–5 child is $300 less than the first; call the office for PreK and middle-school sibling rates.
Tuition can be spread across roughly 10 payments during the school year instead of paid up front.

Awards typically cover a portion of tuition rather than all of it, and are sized to what a family can reasonably pay. Applications are confidential, reviewed by a small committee, and decided separately from admission — asking for help never counts against your child.
When to apply: submit the aid application at the same time as the enrollment application. Awards are decided before registration is due, so you will know your real cost before you commit to anything.
If you receive state childcare assistance for a preschool-age child, call the office before you apply — we will tell you plainly whether it can be applied at KCA this year.

Families relocating for Taylor Regional, Campbellsville University, Amazon, or local manufacturers, and families leaving a public-school situation that isn't working, can usually start mid-year if a seat is open. Bring records; we handle placement.
Already in public school and something isn't working? We enroll mid-year when a seat is open. Call (270) 789-2462 or send the tour form. We answer within one school day.
We have historically partnered with homeschool families for certain courses and activities. Ask the office about current options. Partnership, not replacement.

You ask what it costs, we tell you on the first call. Nothing is committed at this stage.
Visit on a regular school day, meet the teacher, and sit in the classroom your child would join.
A short form plus a copy of report cards or records from your child's current school.
A brief assessment and a conversation with you, so your child starts in the right grade — not a test you can fail.
One confidential form about household income. It is read by the aid committee only, and it does not change whether your child is accepted.
Sign the enrollment agreement, pay the registration fee (or set up a plan for it), and get your Sycamore login for grades and attendance.
